your going to have to mess with your start up parameters. to optimize for your system, arma does a horrible job at this by itself. there are threads here and on arma to do this. just google arma3 start up parameters. secondly your settings in game. other than that, based on everyone elses experience. I would NOT be disappointed getting that many frames on the assault server with that many people. during ops most of us sit around 20-25 fps.

so how would i write this in with the mods?
-high -exthreads 7 -maxMem=<your RAM divided by 2> -cpuCount=<cpu cores>
also would i just put "4" for the ram or 4096 which is half my ram?

You would put those, yes, and 4096 is half of 8 gigs of ram :)

You're going to have a tough time getting great frames because of your AMD CPU. ARMA doesn't like AMDs that much.

Here's a good guide:

SGT is 100% correct. Amra is CPU intensive... I have an intell CPU but an old AMD GPU... and I get better performance than those with new intel GPU and AMD CPUs.... something to think about when it comes time to do upgrades. Ill be doing my GPU soon

There's a very long line waiting for that prayer to be answered.

The following is the link that helped me get the most FPS increase, from like 18 up to 30-40ish.

I've had to tinker with it a bit after those edits. I ended up not using the -malloc=system parameter as it seemed to make my game crash sometimes. I believe this is related to the fact I deleted the memory allocation DLLs from arma. It has the instructions on how to determine what to set your parameters to as well.

Here is the single best thing you can do to improve your Arma 3 experience.

Anything else will only produce marginal improvements .

DirectX 12 support is coming in the Tanoa expansion next year, so there's that.
