Supreme Council Reaffirms Commitment to Peace and Regional Stability in IraqTabriz – Office of the Supreme Press Bureau
Today, the Supreme Council of National Guidance reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Ardastan’s enduring commitment to preserving regional stability, protecting the faithful, and ensuring the security of Ardastan’s western frontier in light of increasing unrest in the Iraqi province of Al-Anbar.
In a statement issued following deliberations at the Grand Majlis, Council Speaker Ayatollah Hadi Vahedi declared, “The Islamic Republic, as the cradle of resistance and the voice of the oppressed, cannot remain indifferent while chaos, sectarian injustice, and foreign occupation once again consume our brotherly neighbor, Iraq.”
Protecting the People of Faith
According to recent reports received from tribal elders, clerics, and humanitarian liaisons in southern and western Iraq, the region has witnessed a sharp deterioration in security following the aggressive re-entry of Western forces under the NATO flag. Several districts, notably around Ramadi and Anizay, remain plagued by unchecked violence and foreign-backed military operations that have displaced thousands and endangered sacred religious sites.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed the presence of Ardastani humanitarian observers embedded with tribal security volunteers, offering logistical coordination and emergency relief supplies to affected communities. Minister of Defense General Esmail Parand emphasized that all such efforts remain within the bounds of international law and were undertaken in full coordination with local authorities.
“Our advisors are there to assist local protection forces as they rebuild their communities and resist both foreign meddling and ideological extremism,” General Parand stated, “This is not an act of aggression. It is an act of brotherhood.”
Concerns of Illicit Weapons Development
Echoing earlier warnings issued by the Ardastani Ministry of Intelligence, the Supreme Council also cited mounting evidence of illegal chemical stockpiles and foreign-manufactured munitions stored within former U.S. and NATO forward operating bases in Al-Anbar. Ardastani authorities have submitted preliminary concerns to the United Nations Advisory Committee on Regional Disarmament, requesting a neutral inspection of suspected sites.
“If the international community will not prevent the rise of unconventional threats on our borders, then Duresh reserves the right to act in defense of its people and allies,” stated Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Fatemeh Kouhpayeh during a press conference this morning in Tabriz.
Popular Support for Intervention
Across the Islamic Republic, demonstrations of solidarity with the people of Iraq have grown in recent days. In the holy city of Qom, thousands of students from the University of Sacred Jurisprudence gathered in Martyrs’ Square, chanting slogans in support of Ardastani unity and the defense of the Ummah.
Grassroots organizations such as the Imam Hossein Defense Network and the Red Tulip Society have launched food and medical aid convoys destined for the Iraqi border, echoing similar campaigns seen during the Great Victory of 1989.
A Deliberate and Measured Posture
Despite growing popular pressure, President Reza Bahrami and the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Kaveh Shirazi, have emphasized a measured approach rooted in diplomacy, divine guidance, and constitutional restraint.
In his weekly televised address, the Supreme Leader stated, “Duresh will not be baited into war. But we will not allow the faithful to be abandoned, nor will we permit instability to take root on our doorstep. We stand ready—morally, spiritually, and militarily—to answer the call of justice.”
