Dateline March 4, 2015 Air Base Anvil, Podagorsk

As of the 1st of March, 2015 it would seem the tide of War has irreversibly changed in NATO's favor. Over the weekend, elements of the 101st Airborne Division and French and British UN Security Forces have swept up the western coastal regions of Podagorsk, leaving the wreckage of the RPLA invasion forces in their wake.

The Capitol of Zirnitra has been liberated after a day long intense battle involving the 506th Infantry Regiment's 1st Platoon, Alpha Company and it's supporting Task Force. The fighting was intense, reports have come back of desperate RPLA forces leaving a scorched earth in their wake as they retreat north away from the advancing US forces. On Sunday however, the 101st showed little mercy for the Russian Separatist Army as it pummeled those retreating forces with a second Task Force Assault that swept thousands of meters north and liberated the northern coastal city of Berezniki. The Red Guard and RPLA have been thoroughly routed along the western coast. US forces have begin consolidating thier hard fought gains as French and British forces have begun moving in to secure the cities.

The UN Refugee center on Bolshevik Island erupted into spontaneous celebration as news of the resounding victories spread from the Air Base to the refugee camp. Thousands of native Pogars and Chernarussians have been seen streaming across the land bridge to return to their homes, regardless of warnigns from the NATO commanders that the areas are still in flux and not completely secure.

Istuz Umaya, an elderly council member from Zirnitra spoke with the International Times moments before he packed his blue tarp tent and joined the unauthorized exodus from the refugee camp. "It is is like God has answered our prayers. The NATO's soldiers have come to give back our land and our dignity. We thank you from our hearts bottoms. We will go home, bury our dead, drink the vodka and watch as the Americans kick the rest of those RPLA dogs out of our homes and villages. I spit on the ground they walked on."

In a morning briefing with the Press, 1LT Cook, the 506th Infantry Regiments Intelligence Officer, gave the following statement: "Over the last few days the fighting troopers of the 506th and its supporting assets have brought unmitigated death and destruction to the RPLA and its unlawful occupying forces in Podagorsk. This command will not rest until such time as our prisoners of war are returned to us. Every available asset, every bomb, every bullet and every waking moment will be focused on bringing suffering to the RPLA until such time as it sees reason, returns our soldiers to us, and leaves the sovereign state of Podagorsk. That is all."

LT Cook, refused to comment on speculation about further large scale operations meant to cripple the RPLA and destroy their presence in the Podagorskan peninsula. International Times however has received word from correspondents behind enemy lines that the RPLA in Podagorsk are retreating north to the hill country that separates Chernarus from the peninsula. This is a vast area of deep wilderness and mountainous terrain. RPLA forces have been reportedly massing in the eastern port city of Protvino and at the critically strategic position of the Pogar Pass, north of that city.

General Zhutov Olegovich, the RPLA supreme commander, has issued the following statement over Chernarussian Separatist radio : "The American invaders will die in the mountains of Podagorsk. They have bombed the cities of the Pogar people and failed to route us. The RPLA is strategically moving to deliver the final blow. We have captured their soldiers, defeated them at every critical battle and allowed them to think themselves victorious as fools often do. They will die by the hundreds in our sacred mountains, their bones will be bleached by the sun of the Black Sea. This I swear."

To date, no further information has been provided regarding the location or status of the 12 American prisoners taken by the RPLA in southern Podagorsk. Fears are mounting at home and in Washington DC that the prisoners have most likely been moved to RPLA controlled territory in Chernarus. State Department sources have confirmed that the US Government is actively engaged with The United Nations and the Chernarussian Ambassador to speak on the issue of intervention on behalf of the American prisoners.

And so the war will spread to Chernarus...

This General guy is pretty confident of his defensive capabilities, which to be fair he does have a good spot to set up. Still, I'm sure the 506th can push right through the mountains.

I'm just worried bout MANPADs. CAS, MEDEVAC, and airborne deployment may be blocked by guys with Strelas on mountains.

Not sure how the Pogars would feel if we gave them back their country in the form of a big crater.  :P
