RE: ***URGENT*** ROMN Counteroffensive
The following intelligence report is classified and should only be distributed to authorized personnel.
***HIGH CONFIDENCE OF IMMINENT COUNTEROFFENSIVE***Joint Analysis Cell reports with high confidence ROMN forces are reinforcing its positions located in DOURDAN, ARUDY, and GOSSE to establish a defensive line to stop US Forces and begin a push into our lines.
The deployment began last evening with large numbers of wheeled and tracked vehicles moving throughout the night to positions in the above named cities. SIGINT collaborates the ROMN 2nd Mech Inf DIV (MID), HQ located in HOUDAN, pushed combat forces from HOUDAN into DOURDAN to establish the ROMN main defensive effort to secure MSR Bastogne that runs from LE PORT along the east coast northward to the Airport. 2nd MID also controls ARUDY and IMINT confirms elements moving north from positions there into the mountain area overlooking LARCHE. These two movements establishes connected defensive lines, with overlapping fields of fire against the current US and COR Forces located in LA TRINITE.
5th MID HQ’s out of LE PESSAGNE moved a sizable force northward to reinforce the city of GOSSE as elements from that location moved northward to retake Mount Chauve and re-establish control of that key terrain. COR forces deployed south of LARCHE reported small skirmish, probing attacks against its positions while observing enemy vehicles and soldiers digging in south and northwest of the city.
Additional enemy movements include a 1-2x BDE’s of military forces moving north out of LE PORT on MSR Bastogne towards HOUDAN but this will take several days to complete. This force belongs to the 1st Guards DIV whose intent is most likely to break through 506th IR and COR battle positions and retake the northern cities and airport. There is an increased number of MBT’s in this formation along with AD and Artillery assets.
Another formation from the 1st Guards DIV is moving west out of LE PORT along MSR Eagle towards CHAPOI and northward towards LE PESSAGNE to reinforce the 5th MID. LE PORT remains heavily defended and supported by forces located at the Military Base on the southeast island.
Several small helicopters were observed maneuvering overnight, originating from ARUDY flying NOE to several locations along the mountains from Mount Chauve along the mountain range surrounding LARCHE and towards DOURDAN. 1-2x of the missions flew west/northwest of GOSSE but were lost on radars shortly beyond the coastline.
ANALYST COMMENTS:
ROMN forces have begun massing along the frontline south of LA TRINITE and LARCHE to the central North-South range of mountains. Utilizing both military and civilian vehicles these infantry forces have been digging in heavily using traditional sandbag bunkers and alternative barriers. Civilians that are loyal to General Aguilar have aided the efforts by blocking off roads and bridges using cars, garbage, and dirt. Civilians not loyal to Aguilar are also being forced to aid fortification efforts with children as young as ten years old being forced to fill sandbags.
Three Infantry Companies, utilizing American-built HMMWV and Russian-built GAZ-2330 Tigr Infantry Mobility Vehicles are the frontline force. A massing of two mechanized infantry platoons based on BMP-3 Infantry Fighting Vehicles have been moved into a central position south of La Trinite. Aerial reconnaissance has also picked out the thermal signatures of Main Battle Tanks, it is definite that this is ROMN’s armored platoon of T-72B3 Main Battle Tanks. It is highly likely their intentions are offensive according to their support. This unit is also believed to be supported by a fourth infantry company. This finishes the balance of the 1st Guards DIV, which has remained in defensive positions near LA PORT. This unit has attached ZSU-23 “Shilka” and SA-19 “Tunguska” SPAAG’s.
There appears to be a connection with elements of the elite Los Cazadores SOF unit. This unit is the perpetrator of the attack against the USS Freedom (LCS-1). Aerial reconnaissance has reportedly shown movements of high-ranking ROMN and LOTN officers to and from the forward headquarters of ROMN’s 1st Guards DIV. Among the movements COR has reported Colonel Axel Rodriguez to be present at this headquarters. Given Colonel Rodriguez’s record it is believed ROMN forces are planning offensive action. COR forces have also sounded the alarm, saying that they have heard rocket artillery fire but have not heard explosions from enemy shells. It is highly likely the enemy is laying minefields via BM-21 “Grad” 9M28K rocket rounds. LOTN is also believed to be rigging the town DOURDAN with numerous IED’s in the street and in buildings, but this unconfirmed.
Enemy forces have conducted several large-scale reconnaissance efforts with platoon-sized elements of IFV’s and IMV’s. Task Force Dagger has reported enemy forces have come closer each night of reconnaissance, and report that the unit markings are identical with the 1st Guards DIV. Task Force Dagger has also reported that COR and LOTN confrontations have escalated greatly in the town of ARUDY. The two paramilitary forces show no signs of making significant gains either way and casualties have been light but LOTN has committed much of their efforts to countering COR in ARUDY with ROMN artillery support. COR commanders claim that ROMN officers are aiding the LOTN efforts in ARUDY. It is highly likely that this is a diversionary effort to distract American attention from a likely ROMN counteroffensive.
