Why do you want to join the 506th Infantry Regiment Realism Unit?: I'm currently an ROTC cadet who wants more exposure to tactics, techniques, and procedures. The field training exercises that we conduct are very educational but they are few and far in between. Also, since my college is in the city, whenever we do battle drills outside of FTX, we are restricted to a wide open field, engaging our OPFOR from 25-50 meters with imaginary cover. While participating in Milsim isn't the equivalent of actual field training, I think it is a very good alternative during my down time.
If you have elected either rotary wing pilot, fighter pilot, combat engineer or medic, if all billets are full by the time you finish the training pipeline, you may have to go infantry for the time being. Do you understand this?: Yes
