Connection issue
« on: September 25, 2016, 08:07:23 PM »
This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I can surf the internet and go on skype but my problem is that steam and teamspeak will not connect to the internet when i can with google chrome and skype. I have checked the ports and they are good, I have checked the firewall and the boxes are checked, iv done scans on my computer for malware and viruses. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

I believe both Steam and TeamSpeak have their own teams of tech support and troubleshooting. I'd recommend checking with them since they'd be the experts.

You should try to see if those two programs are being blocked somehow by your windows firewall, it could have been added to the list on accident. Refer to this if you do not know how to, other than that...no idea why.

The only time I've had that problem was when I was on a VPN. When I'm telecommuting for work Steam and TS and any other exclusive connections fail.

Try flushing your DNS. Try these steps and give it another shot: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7300086

Apparently there an issue with the DNS cache in the Windows 10 update, so check that also.

Beware the "DNS Client" caching service on Windows 10 Anniversary release.  I had to turn mine off (and back on) to reset it earlier today.  It's failed again, so now I'm leaving it in the off position.

Many people have had to roll-back to a previous version of Windows 10  due to networking issues.

I have an unstable connection myself at the moment, but think mine is due to my ethernet cable.

Any way you could try using a different PC on your internet, or maybe this PC on someone else's internet?

Send me a day and time (Eastern time) that works for you and I can take a look at your issues with something like teamviewer since this is obviously something that has persisted through a full wipe/image of your machine.
