Need help with diagnosis, ASAP!
« on: January 16, 2016, 10:30:49 AM »
Hello, I just registered yesterday was planning to send in the application and everything yesterday but ran into some trouble if anyone can help me out.

So I just built my rig a couple days ago. Whenever I try to install my graphics card's drivers from the website or the disc that was provided, I can get as far as the installation finishing and it asking me to restart but then when I restart it does not boot my OS and stags in a black screen subsequent to showing the Windows startup icon.

I have an MSI H97M G43 motherboard, GTX 960, windows 7 home prem.

I've been told it could possibly be something in the BIOS and that I have to disable my integrated graphics within it, which I believe I tried to do, but it still didn't work.

Lemme know what other info I can provide. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Additionally, I know it's my driver installation because when I hit up safe mode and uninstall them all, it works as normal, just with the horrible looking visuals and everything really big.

Delete the driver altogether.
Reboot
Make sure you're running only the default driver.
Restart the machine using the default driver
Have Windows Update look for new drivers
Install the driver from Windows Update

If that doesn't work we'll try plan B
