BREAKING NEWS: Vicious Fighting Between Militia and Alleged American Forces Engulfs Fallujah's NeighborhoodsPrevious week’s violence has spread from governmental buildings to civilian areas, possibly involving American military.
Constant gunfire and explosions could be heard from within Fallujah’s central areas for more than an hour during Thursday evening, GNN was told, with reports of dozens dead and many more wounded, the latter of which may include American military personnel who have since been evacuated.
While the exact identities of the factions involved in the fighting are still under investigation, during the few hours since the fighting ended, it has been confirmed that Iraqi police arrived at the scene around 10 PM, and were seen escorting Western - possibly American personnel - away from a heavily destroyed compound.
Further investigation reveals that the compound was owned by a shell company, bought alongside many other seemingly abandoned sites around the country over the past few years. From our sources and local corroborating eye witnesses, we now suspect it was used by the CIA for local surveillance.
This compound specifically was guarded by a Western security company, who may have returned fire when the militias resumed the fighting that caused 23 deaths last week. The end result was the almost complete destruction of the property, especially after a massive fire broke out due to a direct hit from an explosive (pictured above).
While some militia may have been seen celebrating this event as an unexpected victory, many others now fear retaliation and escalation from the American military. This is a rapidly developing situation, and GNN will continuously update our audience as soon as we know more.
