*All acronyms utilized in the following brief are proactively defined and utilized strictly for the streamlining of text and characters. All acronyms in the following report are defined/transcribed in full upon initial use and then abbreviated for subsequent use. The "Spoilers" marked part below contains utilized acronyms/abbreviations and their definitions and is closed simply to condense report size.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)NOFORN/NF - No Foreign Dissemination (NOFORN//NF) caveat is used to identify intelligence that an originator has determined that may not be provided
in any form to foreign governments, international organizations, coalition partners, foreign nations, or immigrant aliens without foreign disclosure approval. Previously, this was seen/used in the form of classification marking example (SECRET//REL TO USA).

FVEY - The Five Eyes (FVEY) is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. These countries are parties to the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence. The FVEY classification caveat fills the role of what would otherwise be marked "REL TO AUS, CAN, NZ, UK, USA".

CUI - Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI): Previously "For Offical Use Only/FOUO" caveat for classification of internally distributed unclassified information intended for controlled release to authorized persons only; not sensitive enough to warrant SECRET marking and handling procedures.
(C) Situation Report

(C) Elements of Charlie Company, 1-506th Infantry Regiment (Callsign: CHAOS) and 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment (Callsign: RAINMAKER) are reporting that as of 1225 Local (UTC+5/1225E/0725Z), troops are in contact and receiving accurate, direct small arms and indirect fires from NWRC and indigenous militant fighters.

(C) A platoon of M109A6 Paladin self-propelled howitzers and approximately 30 troops of infantry have established a forward firing and observation position, designated OP LEWIS, in the southwestern hills of Sultanbent. CHAOS 2 tasked CHAOS 2-2 and CHAOS 2-3 to conduct a foot patrol along the road and valley north of the OP, and had departed for patrol at approx. 1145 Local. At the time of the initial attack on the OP, CHAOS elements on patrol were approx. 1 kick north of the OP, and began maneuvered to return expeditiously to the OP in order to assist. However, CHAOS 2-2 and CHAOS 2-3 immediately came under coordinated fire from multiple directions and became unable to continue movement south in order to assist in repelling hostiles otherwise engaging the rest of CHAOS 2 & RAINMAKER.

(C) At 1348 Local (UTC+5/1348E/0848Z) the task force has begun receiving sustained MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) fires from their direct north. Hostile indirect fires have so far caused light structural and functional damage to forces and facilities within OP LEWIS, however, the majority of the fires have landed to the south of the OP and designated HLZ. Several of the rockets appear to have fragmented and/or failed to completely detonate- a high risk of unexploded ordnance (UXO) on the southern area behind the HLZ and OP is expected and should be avoided. Fires have been limited in focus to troops positioned atop OP LEWIS and not directed at CHAOS 2-2 or CHAOS 2-3 at the time of this report.

(S) Action/Tasking

(C) Alpha Company, 1-506th Infantry Regiment (Calling STN: HAVOC) has been immediately retasked to serve as a quick-reaction force for RAINMAKER & CHAOS elements under decisive fire from NWRC elements north of their current position at [GRIDREF 006001].

(C) An HLZ has been identified and secured in proximity to RAINMAKER & CHAOS's established defensive position at OP LEWIS. 2x CH-47F Chinook helicopters (Callsign: PHOENIX) will insert HAVOC 1 at this HLZ at approx 1400 Local, and then egress south & east to distance from threats to airframe, landing at the designated HLZ at OP ROSS and await further orders.

(C) Once inserted, HAVOC 1 will immediately coordinate to engage and suppress hostile fire directed at forces positioned atop OP LEWIS, maneuvering to assist CHAOS 2-2 and CHAOS 2-3 in continuing movement from their position north of OP LEWIS. Upon HAVOC 2 making contact with the forward patrol, CHAOS 2-2 and CHAOS 2-3 will continue movement in support of HAVOC 1's maneuver to suppress and engage NWRC forces focused on OP LEWIS, or break contact and return to OP LEWIS if casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) is required.

(C) HAVOC 1 and CHAOS 2 elements will coordinate as necessary to locate and disrupt indirect MLRS fires against OP LEWIS. Counterbattery fires via RAINMAKER are available if the source of hostile MLRS fire is located in time. Once hostile MLRS fires are suppressed, HAVOC 1 and CHAOS 2 elements will establish defensive positions orienting north of OP LEWIS and await further orders.
