A Brand New & Dangerous World In Turkmenistan

DASHOGUZ, TURKMENISTAN - It has been nearly a week since violence has once again gripped the nation of Turkmenistan, with mostly fragmented or conflicting information escaping the reaches of what can be controlled by the Turkmen government. However, as of late last night, it would seem that the veil of secrecy has fallen in a most dramatic effect.

A live broadcast was made via the Turkmen National News several hours ago featuring two men, identifying themselves as Malek Isaev al-Hameed (pictured left) and Colonel Dusun Wassem el-Faris (military uniform, pictured right), who seemed to have directed this address to the world over, while also addressing the people remaining in the country. An image, which experts believe to be the standard of the titled New World Turkmenia Youth Party, serves as the backdrop for the broadcast. A translation of the broadcast was provided to The International Report by the UK's Foreign Office, who confirmed the broadcast's authenticity.

The broadcast summarized the events taken place in Turkmenistan over the last several weeks, most shockingly with the New World Turkmenia Youth Party's own claim of their role in the resignation and subsequent assassination of former Turkmen ruler Usmon Murtazayev, and most recently, the removal and supposed execution of his son and most recently elected president of Turkmenistan, Stepan Murtazayev.

The two Youth Party representatives also denounced the UN's slated peacekeeping mission to the country, with a clear ultimatum and warning of hostile conflict & civil unity against the peacekeeping mission as a result of "Western interventionism".

"Any foreign forces, officially sanctioned by their nation's colours or otherwise, or any mercenary not directed by control of the New World Turkmenia Youth Party or the New World Revolutionary Corps will be considered an enemy of the state, aiding or providing assistance to those we seek to purge from the nation's lands, and will be killed or captured, and the ensuing justice will be swift and unyielding..."

Good evening people of Turkmenistan and the world. We bring news today after such a brief period of misinformation and conflict regarding the new face of our great country. For more than twenty years, the common Turkmen has toiled and suffered under the slavery, indifference, and incompetence of the previous regime, the consequences of such incompetence were passed and felt only by us as its subjects. Today, we are pleased to announce that those responsible for the systematic oppression under the Murtazayev regime and its self-serving fools have been routed from their seats of power, and the Murtazayev family purged from existence... The formation of the New World Turkmenian Youth Party was completed yesterday, with one of our most important missions beginning today- which is to return that which was kept from the Turkmen people. No organ of governance (that) claims to lead its people should ever take from its people, and this was among the reasons for such swift and immediate action levied against those responsible. We were led to believe that the food crisis, which has led to the starvation of thousands of our nation's people, was the cause of many things- border closures from our Turkmen neighbours to punish us for slights we never committed, shortages of grain we ourselves harvested, tariffs and embargoes from foreign nations- all lies designed to displace the blame from those responsible... Our own nation's preservation of self-interests, or rather, the interests in service of the Murtazayev regime... (we) directed the expulsion of the father, and when he sought to punish us for his necessary removal, we determined that justice had been delayed long enough. The reprisals sought by the son did nothing more than to unite us in our struggle- soldier and farmer, sons and children of fathers who cared for themselves before their own blood... The massive food and water stores that have been amassed by our former oppressors will be distributed to the people with the utmost haste...

For too long, the prosperity of the Turkmenian people has been robbed by those before us, or exploited by foreign globalists from the West. We, the New World Turkmenia Youth Party, together with the people of this nation, will take control of our own destiny, and with that, usher in an era of prosperity unlike any we have seen since before our subjugation by the Soviets...

I address them directly now- your false opinions and empty resolutions directed at the valiant people of Turkmenia will not stand. We welcome food and provisions which you may be able to provide to those in need, but hear us now- under no circumstances is the invitation of combat troops, men-at-arms, or invaders of any sort considered valid... The ongoing expulsion and purging of dissidents, undesirables, and remnants of the oppressor's inhumane regime will continue, without interference or regulation from the West, or any other nation for that matter... This is a fight, a struggle, which we as Turkmenians must fight ourselves... Any foreign forces, officially sanctioned by their nation's colours or otherwise, or any mercenary not directed by control of the New World Turkmenia Youth Party or the New World Revolutionary Corps will be considered an enemy of the state, aiding or providing assistance to those we seek to purge from the nation's lands, and will be killed or captured, and the ensuing justice will be swift and unyielding... The Party urges all able-bodied Turkmenians to strengthen and fortify their homes and communities to prepare for inevitable Western interventionism, and the Party will provide resources to support its people's conviction in the coming struggle to seize our destiny...

It is estimated that between six and seven thousand Turkmen citizens have died over the last two months due to starvation or lack of access to clean water. The World Health Organization has sponsored the United Nations Operation in Turkmenistan (UNOTURM) mission, citing reports of a cholera outbreak in the capital of Ashgabat, which has only exacerbated the level of suffering present there, and in other population centres within Turkmenistan.

Comments made by an unnamed official from the UN General Assembly, on the condition of anonymity, convey a general sense of rebuke and disapproval on the global scale, arguing "...The new ruling party in Turkmenistan is almost assuredly using the threat of force to both undermine the peacekeeping and humanitarian initiatives of the (United Nations) Security Council and the UN as a whole, while also attempting to continue with the extrajudicial killings and systematic genocide that is already taking place across the country. Evidence has already shown that the violence which has persisted (in Turkmenistan) is nothing more than political and wealth-based cleansing, on a level that grows increasingly catastrophic with each passing day. It (the evidence) was perhaps one of the most significant items with which the Security Council weighed when considering the deployment of peacekeepers, and that is what the world has done..."

The reports and evidence of any efforts to cleanse groups or populations within Turkmenistan have yet to be seen, however, there are increasing stories coming from some evacuating refugees across the Uzbek-Turkmen border which support that various elements of the Turkmen military and other armed factions within the country have been spotted to be carrying out mass executions. One report even detailed several military trucks that were loaded with the bodies of both uniformed Turkmen soldiers, and policemen, as well as some of the deceased dressed in civilian clothes. "It is as if they are just killing without cause, or at least not a cause known to us..." the escaping refugee recounted. 

Several diplomats and ambassadors posted at multiple missions on behalf of Turkmenistan are believed to be in talks about securing amnesty and safe passage for their families in their respective host countries, most likely to avoid persecution by what can be described as a de facto military junta now holding the reigns of power in Turkmenistan.

Reports have also begun to surface about a mass exodus of what are described as Turkmen Armed "loyalist" forces gathering in the west, evacuating with other citizens and expatriates, who are believed to have been among those targeted for persecution and expulsion by the New World Youth Party now in power.
