I can't personally answer all the places that the 506th acquires mods from, other than Steam workshop, Github, or mods made in-house.

With regards to your proposal, please do the following.

"Mod submissions need to include the following:

-Mod name and download link(DO NOT LINK TO STEAM MODS)
-Explanation of what the mod does and how its mechanics work in-game
-Pros
-Cons
-Bugs
-Summary with why you think the mod should be approved or added(i.e. How it will affect the unit and enhance the experience)

Then send the review/recommendation up your CoC and wait."

Thank you.

Now that armaholic is gone, how else do we normally get mods? I can always download it and put it in a Google Drive.

With Armaholic now defunct my preference is that I get a steam workshop link. I don't want to have to download from someelses Google Drive.

Apparently the old one is no longer supported as the developers had a falling out. So, the main developer created a new version that is in beta. I will be doing thorough testing this next week before posting all of the info and wasting everyone's time. I will post the info after testing. If anyone is willing to help me out at some point, please let me know. I work from 1530 CST to about 2230 CST Monday through Friday.

Mod Name: FA-18-Super-Hornet-BETA
Mod Link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1552807725
This Mod contains the F/A-18 E and F Models. The E Model is the solo aircraft and the F Model is a tandem model. The Tandem features a pilot and a weapons officer.

Pros: This aircraft was originally created to take off and launch from an aircraft carrier. Both models feature a tailhook to allow the aircraft to land safely and quickly on the aircraft carrier. These aircraft allow the pilots to add up to 5 long range fuel tanks, which can be dropped in flight. In place of the fuel tanks, these aircraft can be equipped with a "Buddy Pod" which allows them to refuel another aircraft in flight.
The F Model allows the Pilot to decide who controls each of the pylons. By using the ACE option to configure the pylons, the Pilot can load each pylon individually and decide whether the Pilot or WSO will operate the weapons on that pylon. Having a WSO will allow the pilot to focus on maintaining safe and effective flight while the WSO is able to focus on using the weapons to provide CAS. There is also an option for the Pilot to unlock the controls and allow the WSO to fly the plane if the Pilot needs to go "off comms" or something happens to the Pilot. These aircraft have many pylons to load with various munitions and is very agile. Where the A-10 is an amazing CAS aircraft, the F/A-18 is able to provide CAS while being extremely agile and able to dogfight in the same moment they are providing CAS. The F Model is extremely efficient at this, as the Pilot can fire Air-to-Air Missiles while the WSO is able to continue providing CAS. However, if there is no other person available to fly as the WSO, the pilot is able to operate the Air-to-Air systems, as well as the camera and Air-to-Ground systems.

Cons: The main guns maintain a lower amount of ammunition than the GAU-8. From what we can tell, you need a HEMMITT AMMO truck to be able to repair and rearm the aircraft. If you would like to use the service menu built into the mod, which allows repair, refuel, and rearm, you need to pull the HEMMITT AMMO truck near the aircraft and get in the pilot seat.

We did a lot of testing with the bugs the old mod had, such as TFAR issues and the WSO not being able to operate the camera. These bugs all seemed fixed with the multiple aircraft we tested. We also spawned units inside of them and took control of them with Zeus, confirming those features work with them, as well.

This aircraft was used in a previous Liberation server we had here. I have also used it in my own Liberation servers. In practice, the A-10 is perfect for CAS. In Arma, this aircraft excels above it in the ability to provide CAS while still being able to be fast and agile for dogfights. Being able to have two people in the F Model at the same time is also a great addition as the Pros show. This aircraft is also easy to swap into the Liberation, as it is compatible with the mods and Liberation scripts.

I am happy to do my best to answer any other questions and test anything you wish to be tested. Thank you for taking time to consider adding this to the Public Mod Pack!
