SUBJECT: (S) SKOZISTAN

SITUATION: (S) LATEST ON ISIS IN SKOZISTAN

ANALYST COMMENT: (S) Since the 506th began combat operations ISIS has started to fortify itself within sections of the country and has readily recruited or brought in additional fighters from abroad and from local villages. Among these recruits are numerous young child soldiers and defected FSKA conscripts who resent the current government. These defectors have taken with them stockpiles of weapons and a handful of armored vehicles (BMP-1, T-55, BTR-60, etc.) salvaged from Cold War garages and depots and brought in by black market traffickers working for the FSKA and Taliban/AQS. By now ISIS operations in Skozistan are self-sufficient, with intelligence indicating an intact and operating chain of command controlling a network of bomb-makers, assassin teams, training camps, and semi-conventional ground forces.

ISIS appears to be using all the lessons that they have learned from Syria and Iraq in Skozistan, including the use of their own drones for use against their opponents. Intelligence suggests ISIS is working on establishing a drone manufacturing facility to outfit commercial drones with the ability to drop mortar shells and grenades as well as coordinate reconnaissance and artillery spotting. S-2 will advise as more information is obtained.

ISIS has not been idle in its preparations, it is also launching raids and is actively battling AQS and Taliban cells and forces. Engagements to the east of the capital, and this assault is causing immense internal conflict within the FSKA. The local garrison commander is accused of not handling the ISIS attacks and the frontline generals are being accused of facilitating the collapse of the government at the behest of the Taliban and AQS. ISIS forces are pushing west meeting moderate opposition despite large FSKA formations being dug in on their right flank. Another ISIS push to the Southwest of KalaeNoowi is meeting with light local resistance, and it appears that ISIS vanguard formations are nearing COP Texas and COP California.

Last week an ISIS stronghold was attacked and defeated at COP Bushlurker, giving them less of a foothold. However they still remain a formidable opponent, especially in this terrain.
