Title: Gaming Laptop
Post by: akoch on February 26, 2016, 12:13:23 PM: Paging anyone who knows more about laptop hardware than me. Anyone know a decent gaming laptop for ArmA 3? I'm not looking to pull 60FPS, just have it be playable. Am gonna be moving out of country for 4 months on business, would like to be able to continue playing when I can.

Thanks to everyone that can help! I know a lot about the software side of things, but am sadly at a loss for most hardware.

In 2014 and it served me pretty well. Getting a newer model would probably work. With any gaming laptop, watch for shitty hard drives. They like to put old, slow ones in to save cost. Highly recommend buying a ssd and installing it. Most gaming laptops have space for 2 hard drives.

Runs ArmA exactly the same as my Desktop. Probably down to it having same CPU as my desktop. However really not cheap, let me know your limit first and i can think about it

What's the price you're looking at - and how does it perform in ArmA?

I'm currently using this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232465) and it has the same 970M video card and only 12G of ram but it plays Arma (and pretty much everything) at high FPS.
