I highly recommend this mini-series to any of the members who haven't seen or heard of Band of Brothers (http://www.amazon.com/Band-Brothers-Blu-ray-Scott-Grimes/dp/B00129H7VS/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_11?ie=UTF8&refRID=1ANPEF1NBW9NN5T74RKZ). It's an epic story of the 506th's Easy Company, following their trials and tribulations. From jump school to D-day, The Seige of Bastogne, and all the way to Hitler's defeat... there is never a dull moment! If you have Amazon prime it's free to stream the entire mini-series.

i also recommend the "follow-up" miniseries The Pacific http://www.amazon.com/The-Pacific-Joseph-Mazzello/dp/B001IBIHQ4
its made by the same people.
but out of the two Band of Brothers is my favorite without a doubt.

Adding to the list of HBO miniseries I recommend Generation Kill (https://www.amazon.com/Part-1-Get-Some/dp/B006886962).
Based on the book of the same name written by reporter Evan Wright. It's about 1st Battalion Recon Marines during the first few weeks of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Pacific and Generation Kill were good, entertaining miniseries.
Band of Brothers is a masterpiece in its own league.

All very good shows for sure...I sure hope there's no one here that hasn't heard of Band of Brothers lol ;)
I actually enjoy the "behind the scenes" interviews of the real guys better than the series...I am always grateful and humbled by the sacrifice they and those that did not return made for freedom. These words cannot express the truth behind that, but I will never forget and I hope everyone else is the same.
