Title: Cheap Arma 3 PC Build- Help meh
Post by: J O. Wolfe on July 15, 2015, 08:55:30 AM
Having FPS issues that don't allow me to perform at the efficiency that I would prefer.

I need a computer that can clock 30+ Frames for about 300-400 Dollars.
Thanks.

If you're using a desktop, is there any hardware you can move over? Hard drives, optical drives, cases, power supply etc?

You're not going to be able to build a computer for 300-400. What you can do is upgrade your current computer. Also keep in mind that even on a $10,000 computer, ARMA can still run at less than 30 FPS in multiplayer.

... with AMD at it's core lol

But to confirm what everyone has said above, it will be difficult on that budget to build a rig for Arma with brand new parts.   Scavenging your current set-up and filling the gaps will be the key to stay around the price range you want, otherwise, you are looking at a minimum of $600 - 700 for a fresh build and that's still sacrificing a little.

My friend bought a 30 FPS med-high settings ARMA 3 build just recently. All parts are new, except the VGA which he got off ebay and a 22" LCD which he got from me for $65

- Celeron G1820 ($46)
- R9 270 ($130 used)
- 8 GB RAM - GoodRam 1600MHz ($80)
- power supply & case ($49.99)
- some cheap mobo, I think it was Assrock B35M ($65.99)
- Win 7 Home Premium OEM (ebay, $70)

Have you tried optimizing some settings for better FPS?  It's possible to get quite a few frames out just by changing a few settings.

What are your current specs? What's you CPU and graphics card? That money could be better spent on upgrading one of them.
