I was just wondering if there was a good combat engineer video by the unit and if so its title. Thanks
-
They have been stood up over the last 1.5 weeks. Their first operation is this Saturday.
-
I look forward to seeing the mission on-line...
-
I'll have a video up a few days after the OP from the Squad Medic's perspective for the engineers. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1tw82WJdeOvn9cfQeWh-3g (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1tw82WJdeOvn9cfQeWh-3g)
Not sure if any of the other guys plan on recording it.
-
i shall be recording

The 506th has Combat Engineers? What do they do in Ops? What's their mission?

Non-members won't be able to see that. To my understanding, the engineers are going to often be acting like any other rifle squad (there is one engineer squad per task force), but will have the added capability of being able to conduct demolitions, etc. if needed.

My bad. As far as I can tell, SGT Harrison here is spot on with the description.
-
SGT Harrison is correct. Our main duty will be to act as a force multiplier for the task force. Essentially, we'll be adding extra firepower to specific points on the battlefield. And of course, when called upon, we can utilize explosive ordnance to reduce EN weapons caches, obstacles, buildings...etc.

What training do you go through for the Combat Engineers MOS? Different AIT track, I'm assuming.
-
No every ground unit goes through the same OSUT it is what happens after where the magic happens.

What the CPL said is right.

As for MOS there is a inner unit class that is taught to all personal once transferred in. Upon completion of this class you are now a Combat Engineer and can attend ops as a Combat Engineer
