Does real world experience hold any weight in this community?

Very respectfully,

Yes and no, your not going to get any special privlages for being in the real life military, our tactics in game are adjusted because fighting Arma 3 AI is different than fighting real people. However if your real life leadership skills and tactical knowledge are noticed you may be chosen for a leadership position before your peers. However don't act like your real military experience makes you better than anyone, some of the best leaders in this unit were never in the military.

Everything that the LT has said is accurate, one other thing to note, if you are active duty you will be exempt from a few policies for activity since we understand that your unit could throw a wrench into your plans rather suddenly.

As current serving Combat Engineer I can say: Yes you can adjust real life army experience in here, does it always work? no. It's ARMA and ARMA likes to do it's own thing. Leadership and experience isn't always connected to real life service. Yes, it will be noticed, no it doesn't give any privileges for this Unit.
For me it was adjusting all my experience to ARMA, because you simply can not compare a online Milsim with real life but you can find a way how to use real life knowledge into this after a while. Even, learned different things, from this Unit from non-military members here that made my vision on things different. And there are plenty of good leaders and members here who got all the experience even they never served in the military.
