Heavy Clashes at Erzikistani Airfield

10 August 2016

United States forces are reported to have secured a major strategic objective in the war torn Al Rayak region of northern Erzikistan. Operational Security is still tight at this time, but the mood surrounding a significant victory is unmistakable. That mood is present among the men and women serving in and around Airbase Minnesota today.

In a brief press conference held yesterday, a senior spokesperson reported that even though the Republic of Erzikistan is receiving external assistance from an unknown force in the form of high tech weaponry, the troops of the 506th Infantry Regiment in a brazen daylight assault successfully neutralised Airbase Incirkli, located in the far North East of the province near the Iranian border. There have been many rumours locally about the possibility of Iranian assistance becoming a factor in the ongoing conflict. With the confirmation of 'external assistance' during the press conference, these rumours appear to be carrying weight even with the denials of direct involvement by Iranian representatives during recent sessions of the UN security council.

Whilst no formal announcement has been made, our sources report that casualties were light given the nature of the assault. Further details will be reported as they become available.

I love the thought process behind the second picture in terms of building clearing. "Alright, AR, I'll kick this door in and you shred through everything inside."

Nice work, SGT Beard!
