BREAKING NEWS - 22 September 2016 - Al Rayak - International Times Exclusive
Incirkli, Al Rayak - American forces based in Ezrkistian successfully destroyed an important artillery position in Ratyan. Manned by the Army of the Republic of Ezrikistan, the artillery position was hit by ground forces and air assets.

“We have regained the initiative and we have inflicted heavy losses to the enemy,” said one private who asked not to be identified for operational security reasons.

“The A-10 flying over us saved our lives many times, and the ground units performed marvelously. We engaged the enemy aggressively and killed many of them,” he added while smoking his cigarette outside his barrack back in Incirkli.

US troops engaged multiple enemies in Tel Segheb before moving towards Ratyan, and used their positions to provide overwatch for the maneuvering element. Although many armoured vehicles were present in the area of operation (AO), US troops were able to keep moving forward with the support of an A-10 and Little Bird gunship.

Soldiers checking their equipment and getting ready to head out into the night.

''We have disabled a Russian-made T90 with rockets enabling the infantry to push through it without being compromised,'' said one of the Lancer pilot.

A large number of gunfights also happened in abandoned civilians houses where damage was observed by the returning civilians.

''CSAT troops kicked us out of our houses and turned them into fortified positions. Everything we have is either destroyed or in a terrible shape. We can't afford to rebuild,'' said a Tel Segheb homeowner.

The Americans then successfully cleared Ratyan and dug-in until ordered to move back to the Incirkli combat outpost (COP).

The destruction of important artillery pieces dealt a huge blow to the Army of the Republic of Ezrikistan's troops. In the last few weeks, the same troops went from offensive operations to tactical withdrawal. No official numbers were confirmed but we estimate the Ezrikistani troops losses at over two platoons of infantry and several armoured vehicles, including Russian-made T-90s and CSAT's anti-aircraft ZSU-39 Tigris.
