Application question . . . .
« on: February 26, 2015, 04:26:31 PM »
Could someone point me to where I can find the "requirements for the unit" and the "criteria for being active"? I haven't had any luck finding it and it's one of the questions on the app.

Thanks

Mr Harley,

Here is information on joining the unit:

http://www.506thir.net/forums/index.php?topic=20.0
  • Minimum age: 18
  • Must have a copy of ArmA III and a valid Player ID.
  • Must have a microphone and Teamspeak 3.
  • An understanding of the definition of roleplaying in a realism environment.

Also stated on the application itself:

http://www.506thir.net/forums/index.php?action=form;n=2
  • How long have you been playing ArmA III?
  • Are you currently a member of an ArmA III gaming clan or unit?
  • Why do you want to join the 506th Infantry Regiment Realism Unit?
  • If you have elected either rotary wing pilot or fighter pilot, if all billets are full by the time you finish the training pipeline, you may have to go infantry for the time being. Do you understand this?
  • Please check your user profile and ensure that the email address you registered with is correct. Have you done this?
  • Do you understand the definition of realism gaming according to the 506th realism unit, and is this the type of realism experience you desire and are willing to abide by?
  • Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit and the criteria for being active and taking a billet in this unit and that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserve platoon?
  • You understand the fact that this unit is a EST (GMT -5) time zone based unit, and the attendance requirements of operations on Sundays at 2000 EST (0100 GMT)?

EDIT: In regards to activity level, you need to attend every training and operation that is mandatory. The number of trainings depends on where you decide to be. Generally if you miss two or more scheduled (required) trainings/operations without being excused you will land a trip to reserves. An excused absence is decided by either talking to your direct superior, or you post an LOA (see: http://www.506thir.net/forums/index.php?board=76.0 ; you wont have access to this yet).

I hope this helps.

Regards,
