Utes is, if I remember correctly, something like 20 miles off the coast of Chernarus. In Harvest Red, it was taken by the ChDKZ and the 27th MEU (SOC) had to liberate it before moving on the nation proper.

If I had to guess, the RPLA will make a move on Utes once they control the majority of the coastline of Chernarus and try to use the CDF military base there to observe naval activity and interdict air and naval traffic. If Utes has fallen to the RPLA, they will need to be removed in order to secure safe travel to Chernarus by air or sea.

Exactly what I was thinking. With their lack of naval vessels, this may be a good way for them to protect their coastlines.

I like that idea if the RPLA is controlling Utes now. Especially if that's the strategic location to get into Chernarus.

I think the question to be asked is "how will we take it out?" The 506th isn't capable of marine landings, so unless we're talking about a combat drop onto Utes, I don't see an easy way for an Air Assault Brigade to assault the island without an airbase.

That being said, going "Geronimo" and assaulting the island that way would be a quick way to overwhelm the small island defenses and neutralize it. You could probably take it with only a Company reinforced, dividing it into two Task Forces: One drops from the north and marches south on the airstrip, taking the town of Kamenyy, while the other drops from the south and marches north on the military base, securing the village of Strelka.

Remember our former brothers in the 15th MEU...

I'm not saying...I'm just sayin'....
