I have a question. I have a compatible laptop that I can play Arma 3. However, do I need an keyboard to play with the 506th. RCT K.Nguyen.

NO KEYBOARD REQUIRED

WHY ARE WE YELLING
-
YOU NEED A G2 PEN BEFORE YOU CAN JOIN THE UNIT
-
In all seriousness, a laptop keyboard should be fine, other than quickly switching channels on our radios the Numpad is rarely used.
As a non-member you are unable to see our meme thread so don't worry if you are confused by SSG Lee's "comedy", its not a requirement to have a G2 pen, its just a meme going through the unit at the moment.

URAGE makes some cheap mechanical keyboards, if you're on a budget... just know that nobody will be able to think in that room, while you're typing.

Got it, thank you for the advice.

I just realized your question was not what I answered... No, you don't need a specific keyboard... you just need 'a' keyboard.

Copy that Specialist

You can also use a Wii Remote if you are REALLY good at coding

I managed to make a PS3 controller work once upon a time, it was an interesting experience to say the least.

With coding Mr Steves?
-
VR set, movement sensors and full budy Haptic suit that shocks you when you get shot ingame.Otherwise you will never achieve FUlL ImMmeRsiOM!
(But don't worry,a keyboard and a machine that can run Arma are all you need)

I can't remember how I did it because it was back in like 2016. I think I found some program that made the PC think the PS3 controller was an XBox controller and then another program that made XBox controllers work for Arma and then managed to Jerry Rig everything together to make it work. It was great for flying but not the most ideal for ground as I have never been very good with a controller in FPS games.

Ah, I may have an idea what're you talking about Warrant Officer Steves.
