Title: Edtracker Pro
Post by: CW4 Stowe on February 07, 2017, 10:14:55 PM
For those interested in a TrackIR device that is reasonably priced.. take a look at EdTracker Pro

I have been fine tuning mine a little but it is quickly coming together for all Arma 3 head movement.

I've had an edtracker that I DIY built for over a year now. I also had a TrackIr 5 before that to compare... The Ed tracker is better IMO. I never have to hit the recenter button unlike the trackir. Only downside is it doesn't have as many axis. But, with left/right and up/down it's more than adequate.

I have built three of these as DIY, they work great and are dirt cheap( the pre-built ones are cheap, but the kits? are for pennies, especially given the price of the competition.) If you are building one your self be sure to get the card with the magnetometer. The guy who produces these has some great videos on how to set it up correctly for games like Arma. If it is jerky ,snappy or laggy in game , its not set up correctly... I'll try and find the video link...

If you guys dont want to do that either. This solution works even better, as Ive tried both Edtracker and TrackIR; http://www.headtrackr.com/

That's frigging genius! I think I'd use an old phone though so it doesn't start ringing and vibrating my head while playing!

With this device you will have all six axis's to play with. Really usefull when in a aircraft. It works pretty well on land aswell.

My second TrackIR sensor broke. For some odd reason, it heats up at my end and it breaks. Have to buy my third sensor soon, thats why I try to find other solutions, cause TrackIR is not cheap.

You should be able to RMA it if you've had it less than a year.
