Quoting Forum Posts
« on: March 03, 2015, 03:39:57 PM »
In the past, I've been able to quote posts in Command Announcements, and at the Battalion and Company levels, for passing on to my squad.  Today I noticed I don't have that ability anymore (quote option is not showing).  Has something changed?  Is it just me?

If the thread or topic is locked you are unable to quote.
I think...

Yes, I think that's it.  I wanted to quote Capt Hayes' recent post on respect to my squad but now I see it is locked.  Same with the one from the company HQ I wanted to forward.

Don't forget you can always manually quote something using the quote tags.

Code: [Select]
[quote]
[/quote]

You can also fudge it a bit by using this url:
Code: [Select]
http://www.506thir.net/forums/index.php?action=post;quote=16329;topic=3235.0
post;quote=16329 is the post you want to quote, topic=3235.0 would be the topic to quote it into (which is this topic), although the attributing link will be off.
(You can fix that by modifying the link=topic=3235 in the premade quote block to the actual topic ID, in this case 3202.)

Might just be easier to copy and paste it manually like 1LT Blake mentioned.
