War continues to rage across the torn country of Chernarus

Dateline - 28 July, 2015 IGT - Brussels

International Times has recently received a video from the hacktivist group known as "Lingering Torch". The video (shown below) depicts what appears to be a US Special Forces ambush on an RPLA convoy.

This is not the first time "Lingering Torch" has hacked and released military information. Shortly before official NATO announcements on involvement in Chernarus, the group released documents showing proposed troop deployment locations, all of which turned out to be correct. While we could not independently verify the authenticity of the video, we have no reason to believe it to be fake.

Strings of text that were attached to the video give us more insight on what appears to be happening.

There is no date on the video, therefore it is hard to verify when exactly this ambush took place. While NATO forces are currently underway with a full scale war with the RPLA in Chernarus, this video could have been captured months ago. Back on April 7th, we reported on a story of what appears to be US Special Forces raiding a home in Chernarus. We here at International Times believe that US Special Forces have been in country for some time now, far before the official deployment of NATO forces to Chernarus.

On one March morning, when NATO forces were responding to the Podagorsk crisis, a US Task Force was overwhelm by RPLA forces. Ultimately, the US forces were forced into a full retreat from that fight. It was later revealed, that in the ensuing chaos, 12 US Soldiers were captured by RPLA forces. These POW's have been spotted multiple times in Chernarus, after the RPLA were forced to withdrawal back into their country of origin. We believe that the US deployed a small special forces group to Chernarus to track down and find those POW's, or to gather intelligence for preparations of an invasion which came in early June.

Properties of the video have a alphanumeric identifier attached it which possibly indicates the file that it was under. The number reads "BD1";  it is unknown as to what this number pertains to. However, the unit in the video could easily be the same as the unit that raiding in house in Chernogorsk back in April.

The last major thing to speculate on is where this ambush takes place. The grid shown on the UAV feed indicates that the ambush takes place near the Mogalevka area in Chernarus. If the ambush were to take place near Mogalevka in the center of the country, it is very likely that this ambush took place either in the very early stages of official NATO involvement, or before their official involvement. International Times contributor kpt. (Ret) Jaroslaw Jaglowski, a former Polish GROM operator, suggests that this was before involvement as the RPLA is traveling very light in the video. It is known that RPLA forces have been trying to consolidate their forces due to recent NATO advances in the country. International Times contributor Capt Greg Sullivan, a former Navy SEAL declined to comment as he fears any information about the special operations community could harm operators in country.

Nonetheless, the video appears that the UAV operator primarily focuses on the trailing vehicle, a covered truck. When the forces ambush the lead vehicles, they keep all of their fire away from the rear vehicle. Once the UAV operator gets clear eyes on the rear vehicle, and sees that RPLA riflemen are pouring out of it, does the UAV bring in a targeted strike on the whole convoy. Could this be US Special Forces still looking for their POW's?
