The aftermath of battle. US forces assist in cleanup duties following the battle for Incirkli.
BREAKING NEWS - 25th August - Al Rayak - International Times Exclusive
Following the heavy fighting around the northern provinces of Al Rayak last week. US forces have once again been on the offensive, this time around the town of Incirkli. Iranian armed forces are confirmed to be operating in Al Rayak.
Last week, US forces operating in the North East of Al Rayak were successful in establishing control over the important strategical location of Al Rayak's major international airport. It is believed that US forces in the area sustained moderate casualties while taking the airfield, however this has not stunted their battlefield momentum. Realizing how precarious their position in the North East is, it is believed that US forces have struck west in hope of expanding their sphere of influence and establishing US command and control over the advantageous defensive position which Incirkli offers.
The fighting over Incirkli has been extremely heavy and we are receiving reports of a bloody struggle for the town between US forces, local militia and the Army of the Republic of Erzikistan. Who are now confirmed to be defectors from the Iranian 83rd Infantry Division. Despite the best efforts of Iranian politicians, who have adamantly denied Iranian involvement, the evidence now is irrefutable. We also understand that many civilians have been caught up in the cross fire as both sides fought to the end for control over Incirkli.

Townspeople of Incirkli have voiced their discontent at US forces for their apparent heavy handed approach.
The town of Incirkli, known for its local industry in areas such as weaving, cloth manufacturing and its famous market, has been irreparably damaged. At this point in time, the future is uncertain for the townspeople. Though what is certain, is that now they will have to rebuild their lives. A heavy price for the cost of freedom? With only hindsight, we will know.
When will this conflict end? With fighting rumoured in the south across the placid and gentile mountains of Al Rayak; the war will carry on for now.
